Dealing With Loss - Bereavement

Top angle image

The death of a loved one is a devastating and upsetting experience for anyone. For teenagers and young people, this may be the first time they have experienced loss and grief. It can be confusing knowing how to support a young person experiencing grief.

Whilst grief can trigger many confusing emotions for anyone, it can be especially difficult for a teenager who is experiencing puberty and hormonal changes at the same time. Experiencing this can make the added experience of losing someone even more intense and difficult. It can be difficult for themselves as well as those who want to support them.

Use the links below to find trusted support on this topic.  Additionally, encourage your child to use the Health Topic pages for their relevant age group here on Teen Health.  They can find more information and resources to support them.
