Understanding Emotions
Teenagers’ behaviour can be baffling, stressful, hurtful and often worrying. In most cases, it does not mean there is anything more serious going on than the natural process of becoming an adult.
Surges of hormones, combined with body changes can create confusing emotions for young people. During this time, they are also struggling to find an identity and dealing with daily pressures from friends and social media. This can lead to feelings of anxiety or anger.
Whilst striving to develop their sense of independence, teenagers can challenge even the calmest of parents and carers. It is also therefore important to look after yourself.
